Since generations the Winery Franz Schindler is owned by the same family located in Mörbisch on the west shoreside of the Neusiedlersee. The 15 ha wineyards (70% red and 30% white wine) are located in the best areas of Mörbisch and according to the philosophy – the cultivation happens under strict criterions. The way how the grape-vine is cut and the limitation of the earning bild the basic component for the desired substance and the destiny of the wine. The pannonic climate with the influence through the lake and the extreme quantity reduction in the vineyards ensure great ripeness and healthy grapes every year.
The white wines like Welschriesling, Muskat Ottonel and Sauvignon blanc are fermented in high-grade steel containers, Chardonnay is fermented and maturated also in oak barrels. The results are destiny wines with intensive abundance of fruit. The top-product from our white wine assortment is “Cuvée d’Argent”.
The must from red wines like Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are fermented up to 2 weeks on the mash. After the biological acid decomposition the new wine ripen either in big oak barrels or like “Cuvée d’Or” the top quality product of the red wines, up to 24 months in new barriques (french and american oak barrels). Deep colour, a dark fruity flavour, rich in substance and a tremendous tannin structure are distinguished for these wines.
The sweet wines mostly from Bouvier and Chardonnay, impress with harmony, power, fruit and fine acidity so they are never ostensible sweet and always in balance with alcohol. Therefore our wines belong to the great wines from Austria.
